"One of the openers they suggested was Big Boi from Outkast. Why on earth would Big Boi open for us? So I got mad on the phone with them about it. I was like, “Well, how about it’s our last f--king show?” And I hung up the phone. Then I was like, "I guess that’ll be our last show then". That moment of spite behind LCD Soundsystem's last show came from their front man, James Murphy, realizing the show’s promoters had no faith in them selling out Madison Square Garden (which they did). "What’s always been nice for me about being in this band is that we don’t want anything. I don’t want anything from you, Madison Square Garden. I just wanted to play a show, you know what I mean?" Green with envy over this gorgeous emerald library. 💚🐍🐢🍏✳️ James Aguiar and Mark Haldeman's Brooklyn duplex is filled with rich colors and layered patterns. “It was always our dream to have a library,” Aguiar says. They covered the room in Fornasetti’s malachite-patterned wallpaper from Cole & Son. The space doubles as a guest room and the two love seats are pullout beds. The lives of the Stranger Things kids haven't been turned as upside down as you'd think. “It’s definitely been affected by the show a big bunch, but it’s not different,” says @milliebobbybrown. “I’m still the same person.” 🔁⬇️ Tap the link in bio to see what the young actors had to say about their found friendships on set and the whirlwind year they've been having. 📸: @aspictures

Serve up this Monday a knuckle sandwich 👊🏽👊🏽 Rotisserie-roasted veal knuckles dressed with gribiche sauce and dandelion greens from Frenchette, the latest NYC opening from co-chefs Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr. The chefs wanted to marry consistency with spontaneity — to let their menu be guided more by the market and contemporary tastes. Tap the link in bio for more info on the new restaurant and why they want to make veal knuckles the new burger. 📸: #BobbyDoherty

“It’s by these twin brothers no one’s ever heard of. And it may be the best pilot I’ve ever read”. The Duffer brothers thought they’d flamed out in Hollywood. Then they came up with Stranger Things. For a time last summer, the show was all anyone was talking about: those kids, and Eleven, and that adorably weird redheaded girl named Barb. #justiceforbarb The canny advance of Stranger Things lies in how it acknowledges the ways that, in the age of the internet, different eras collide, even as it recombines iconic sounds, images, and visual references to create a modernized version of a cultural experience that is all but lost. Why do New York’s most interesting new restaurants all feel like cafés? 🍉 As more chefs and owners embrace the all-day-café model, they are kicking off with breakfast service and moving right through dinner. You can drop in whenever you want and have a meal that costs less than it would at a fine-dining restaurant, even though the food and service are held to a similar standard. Happiness may be a state of mind, but it’s also a state of body. 😀😬😁😆 A team of researchers have made the case that happiness is hogging more than its fair share of the attention as the emotion most strongly connected to a healthier body. Rather, the study authors found, the ability to feel a wide range of positive emotions — what they termed “emotional diversity,” or “emodiversity” — may be the link to better health. Tap the link in bio to see what else they found and your best bet for a healthier emotional ecosystem.
